Back in the late 1990s, at the height of the pro wrestling boom, many UFC fighters who peaked in the still relatively young world of Mixed Martial Arts, were clamoring to enter the industry. One such UFC veteran, who was signed by WCW, during that time is Tank Abbott.
Some UFC legends, like Ken Shamrock, entered the WWE and went on to achieve levels of success near if not on par therewith of their various MMA career, cementing their wrestling legacies within the hearts and minds of professional wrestling fans everyplace. Tank Abbott’s professional wrestling career, however, was marred by disappointment. In fact, Abbott’s professional wrestling career can forever be outlined by one polemic moment, a flash that LED to his immediate firing by WCW. Abbott, on live PPV, in an exceedingly fully ad-lib moment, force a knife out on another scrapper, command it to his throat, and vulnerable to “f***ing kill” him.
Knowing that, it should come as no surprise that Tank Abbott is once again making news, this time due to a bizarre, misogynistic rant on his podcast, The Proving Ground with Tank Abbott.

Ronda Rousey is the highest-paid fighter in the UFC and is undefeated in her mixed martial arts career. She is currently the UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion. Tank Abbott has lost 8 of the last 10 fights he’s had since returning to MMA in 2003 after his wrestling career. He’s had a total of one fight over the last 6+ years.
